The most fascinating thing about Reaper TV Show was not its story but its mythology. There were various creatures that were part of this mythology and their distinct characteristics which were revealed slowly through the unraveling of the story. There are Demons and Escaped Souls which are wanted by Devil as they belong to him. I will discuss these two in detail later as today I will discuss those who aid devil, namely Reapers, Vessels and Enders.

Reapers are those who have been tasked by Devil to capture the souls that somehow managed to escape the depths of hell. Sam was forced to become a Reaper in the pilot of the series itself. It was never revealed how many Reapers were working for Devil and if all of them were humans.

As Sam is given the responsibility to souls that are already dead and in possession of various supernatural abilities, it’s futile to try to catch them or kill them. To make his job easier, Devil provides Vessels to him which could be just anything including a living thing like a dove. Since Vessel usually has the appearance of ordinary day-to-day accessory, it can be easily mistaken for it. As Vessel does not come with an instruction manual, it’s up to Sam to figure out how to use it.

All Vessels are unique in the terms that each vessel will hold that particular escaped soul only for which it is intended and has no effect on any other escaped soul. The most interesting thing is that most escaped souls become alert in the presence of Vessel especially if it is meant for them. They instinctively know that the wielder of the vessel is likely to capture them and send them back to hell. The best thing about Vessels is that just about anyone can use them to capture souls, and for that matter other matters like corpse, besides souls.

Last but not the least is the Ender who is Devil’s backup plan. In case, Sam refuses to detain the escaped soul and send it to Hell, the Ender is summoned to find and destroy the soul so the soul would neither go to Heaven or Hell.

Is there any other way to continue the storyline of Reaper? Well, I think the creators of this ill-fated drama didn’t come up with any other way than comic book to carry on Reaper.

Yeah, you’re right! Though Reaper has been cancelled, the story of the show will continue in form of comic book. It has been confirmed by Reaper” star Tyler Labine, the man who portrayed Bert “Sock” Wysocki on Reaper. He said, “Bret [Harrison] told me a comic book is definitely in the works. That’s a green light. I think ‘Reaper’ would make a great comic book. I would read that one”.

It’s also true that Labine’s statement is not kind of an official thing. Although the man portrayed one of the leading characters on Moonlight, he’s not the one to plan the future of the series. It’d be counted certain/official only when the statement would come from either show creators or the CW Network.

Tyler Labine has also made another important revelation. As per his words, CW Head Dawn Ostroff was not kind of happy with the pilot episode of the series. She kept the things on the way only because all her people liked it. So, the question ‘would she give ‘The Reaper’ another life’ needs to be pondered over. Nothing can be said until any official statement comes out!

Well, as being a huge fan of Reaper, I want the series to come in the form of a comic book. Let’s see what would be the decision of higher authorities.

Currently, ‘Reaper’ tv show is running with the second season and the very latest episode we watched is entitled ‘My Brother’s Reaper’, aired on May 5, 2009. It was one of the most interesting episodes of the season, and in the beginning of the episode, Sam got a new assignment from his boss. We saw that the Devil asked Sam to get Gary, a spoiled rich guy, to sign a contract with him. Sam treated it as a very easy task, which it was actually not. The cleverness and cunningness of Gary didn’t let Sam make him sign on the dotted line. After her lair was burned down by Ben and Sock, Nina decided to move-in with the guys. A rueful Morgan made appearance and became a houseguest with Sam’s invitation. However, he later turned out to be a nasty guest. Flirting with Nina and putting Sam in touch-and-go conditions, were the consequences of his moving in. Sock threw a bachelor party, just to cheer up Andi, but things got completely off-center. The episode we would catch next is entitled, ‘To Sprong, with Love’. It’s scheduled to be aired on May 12, 2009. In this episode, we would see Sam, Sock and Ben going after Mr. Sprong, their old high school teacher. Following it would be the episode Business Casualty, to be aired on May 19, 2009. And, it’s gonna be a pretty interesting episode as here we’d see Sock dating a demon who has an ability to turn into the form he desires. Well, our very favorite TV show Reaper is about to return with second season very soon. Second season would be premiered on March 17, 2009 and the season opener would be entitled ‘… A New Hope’. In this episode, we will see that Sam would get a cattle prod to capture a group of demons. But later, he would discover that one of them has immunity to it. He’d also be seen claiming of finding a way to get free of devil.

Second episode of season would be entitled ‘Dirty Sexy Mongrel’ and we’ll catch it on March 24, 2009. There is no word on the storyline of this episode by The CW Network. Next episode, ‘The Sweet Science’ would be aired on March 31, 2009 and in this episode we’ll see Sam trying his best to capture a former boxer by using boxing gloves as vessel. On the other hand, Andi gets a promotion at the Work Bench. In the next episode entitled ‘Episode 204′, we’ll watch that the devil would take Sam to Police Station and would introduce him to Morgan, whom he treats as his son. Sam’s next task would be to hang out with Morgan and showing him the ropes.

Next in the row would be ‘The Home Stretch’. Following it would be ‘No Reaper Left Behind’ and then we’d see ‘My Brother’s Reaper’. That’s what I know yet about the second season of ‘Reaper’.

The first time I saw the series, the first thing that hit me was Doctor Faustus, a play by Christopher Marlowe. Wondering what the connection between the two is, then, I am coming to that. The play too deals with the whole theme of Devils and Angels. Well, basically devils, Lucifer and Mephistopheles, who were thrown out of Heaven after they raged a war against God, lost the war and were send to Hell by God. Well, I don’t know if in actuality the series has any connection with Dr. Faustus or not, whether directors and writers too, think like me or not. Whether or not, it is inspired from the play, but the connection that clicked to me was this. So I thought of sharing it with you guys. It might just click to any one of you too, like it did to me.

But, there is one question that is there in my mind and that I would like to ask all of you, here, reading this. Do people still believe in the hereafter? The play by Marlowe was written during the Renaissance, 16^th century. During that time the theme of Devils and Angels was quite prominent, in fact it was one of the most prominent features of the age. The beliefs that were prevalent during that time are still prevalent in today’s world and in fact much talked about. The popularity of the series makes me believe that the people even today have faith in this. This whole myth of the hereafter is still unsolved and what happens to souls after death still attracts people.

Yesterday night I finished watching the series for the second time. You remember the last episode of the first season. It was one of the most exciting and thrilling episode of the season and also one of the most perfect ways to end the season. The episode was named ‘Cancum’. In this episode Sam had to deal with the demons. In this episode, the demons are all set to hurt Sam, whom they consider to be the son of devil. They believe that they may not be able to stop the devil, but they have the power to hurt Sam. Sam who doesn’t know what is happening with him is all confused and thinks he is seeing Steve everywhere. On the other hand, Sock falls for a female demon, who feeds off human life.

Whenever she kisses him, he gets a rush of energy and instead loses a year of his life. Soon a revelation is made by the Sam when he encounters the soul. The soul tells Sam that the Devil and his father are lying to him about his birth, leading him to find out that he may be the Devil’s son. The season ends with this revelation. And, all I am thinking is, what kind of affect will that have on Sam. I am sure that this revelation will affect Sam’s life, but how and in what way, I don’t know.

That is the main reason why I am waiting for the second season so desperately. Now you understand how difficult it gets when they leave things in the middle of everything. I just hope that I get to see the second season as early as possible.

After CW’s announcement to pick up the series for one more season, Reaper fans are feeling a little relaxed. Second season will have 13 episodes…. Something is better than nothing after all!

Well, star cast of series is also very excited to be back on TV and in an interview given to some TV channel; Bret Harrison himself accepts that second season would be very entertaining and humorous. Bret Harrison is portraying Sam Oliver on series. He’s a young man who discovers on his 21^st birthday that his soul has been sold to some devil, even before his birth. When he was asked about the second season, he answers, “In season two, we’ll see Sam’s pi***d off a lot of demons, he’s pi***d off a lot of people in the underworld, and there are these demons that are going to be coming after him.”

How is his working experience with the rest of cast? Bret says that they’re the best cast and crew, I’ve ever worked with and we hang out probably more than we should. Next question was ‘What would you sell your soul to devil for”? Bret tells, what should I sell my soul to devil for? I don’t know!

How Reaper is different from other supernatural shows? His reply was , “Well, I just think that we’re doing something that I think has been done before but a big thing [we're adding] is humor.”

So, Sam doesn’t reveal too much about upcoming season. Obviously, these are called celebrity styles…. But you don’t worry buddies, everything would be explored on our TV sets, we just have to wait till the second season premiere.

So, finally all the doubts are kicked out and Reaper gets a second life. CW has recently announced that this cult-favorite supernatural drama will return for one more season. Series will return for 13 episodes midseason and will join supernatural on the Thursday nights.

Hurrah!! Feeling so satisfied after I’ve got this news as Reaper was one of my all time fave series and having on more season means network is serious about the show. Thank good!! All rumors of cancellation were just a fake. Believe me, when all comedy dramas are being cancelled and when I read somewhere that CW is planning to cut its comedy department, I was sure- no more of Reaper. But it’s back and I am happy to have my fave show once again.

Such a great series Reaper is??? Show has a devoted fan base and most recently series has averaged about a 1.0 rating among adults 20 to 45. Now is the exact time to discuss: what will happen this time on show??? Well, I think it will have answers to the following questions-

What the heck Sam’s parents are?
Are his parents’ demons?
Will Tony help Sam?
Is Sam Devil’s son, what after all this is?

So, I have my list of questions prepared with me and looking for answers. Let’s see what they do have to air. Ah!! Can’t wait for the second season… show is just great and hope the upcoming season will prove it once again.

On this episode, we saw that monsters still have the plans for Sam as they plot to override the devil. Last scene shows Sam deeply involved in romance with a devil. So, it was the end to first season of series…

Well, as we do know that it doesn’t end in a sufficient manner and still cliffhangers are to be solved. So, another season will be here… when…. Don’t know yet. I think they will announce in the next one or two days about the return of series …. As per my knowledge for TV series, Reaper is a show which deals with demons but not too much cruelty is shown on the series…. That’s why it’s a favorite show of all age groups even including the kids also who don’t wanna anything more than animation shows….. I’ve watched all episodes from first season so expecting much more entertaining episodes from second season… if it ever comes… if series returns, definitely, there’ll be much more entertainment and enjoyment so wanna see it back!!!!!!!!
